Alabaster DePlume is committed to personal vulnerability and collective politics - his two unwavering values that unite him and his audience. He has been releasing music since 2011 following his career in care work, although it's safe to say that care is still very much a fundamental thread in Alabaster's musical practice. In 2022, he released the impressive 19-track album GOLD, played festivals in the summer and toured the UK in the Autumn. By honestly stating the concealed truths of this strange and beautiful world, Alabaster DePlume's performances will likely make you laugh and cry. His free-flow of beat-style-poetry fuses with jazzy rhythms and spiritual soundscapes to create music that's reminds you to make the most of life, but not to take it too seriously. The second track on GOLD is 'Don't Forget You're Precious', a song that quite frankly everyone needs to hear. Over a lulling and uplifting soundscape of saxophone, synthesiser and a sea of interweaving backing vocals, he states 'I remember my ex's email address but I forget I'm precious, I remember my national insurance number but I forget I'm precious'.
